Block of the Month Classes
Included in this section are our ongoing classes that last multiple months or multiple sessions. Here you'll find exquisite examples of the quilting craft, where you'll be led down path to a completed quilt. We'll show samples and explain difficult or new techniques each class session. You'll love these classes and you'll enjoy making new friends that you can catch up with each session!

Embroidery Classes
These are classes that have proved popular here at Queen Ann's Lace. Virtual Machine Embroidery Club, "All About Me!" is a fun and informative way to learn machine embroidery with hands on projects.

Special Groups
More than just classes, these are the special sessions for specific groups. Visit our Project Linus Group and help make blankets and quilts for children in need.

MACHINE APPLIQUE FOR BEGINNERS

Explore different methods of machine appliqué, including raw edge, turn under with freezer paper templates and fused using interfacing. You’ll also practice satin stitch blanket stitch, feather stitch and other decorative edges to find your favorite. Take home lots of samples and tips and new-found skills. If you’ve never tried appliqué or it’s been a long time - this class is for you!

CAROLINA LILY

Bring your machine and lunch
Skill Level: Intermediate
This is a unique wall-hanging using “straight seam piecing with curved results”. Translation: You get the look of curves but don’t actually have to piece any! Leslie chose to make her sample in her favorite batiks but commercial prints would work just as well. While this project is not difficult, it is not designed for a beginner.
Some quilting experience is suggested.

DESIGN YOUR LARGE SCALE FLOWER QUILT

Design your own large scale flower quilt.
Part 1: Using either images of flowers you love or some of mine you will create a cartoon for a wall quilt as large as you want to tackle. We will discuss each student’s design and best approach for construction along with color and fabric choices.

EXPLORE THE WORLD OF FLORALS

You’ll be proud to give these great personalized gifts for those very special occasion.

IN THE HOOPS

Have you seen all the amazing items and gifts that can be created using just your embroidery machine and different size hoops? This is a great opportunity to try some out and see just how easy it really is! From tissue holders for your purse to key rings and even luggage tags that will be easy to spot next time you go to claim your luggage. It’s a great way to use some of the fabrics already in your stash or left over from other projects. Add a little stabilizer and embroidery thread and you are ready to start. Watch out though - you might get hooked on - “In the Hoops”!

Join in anytime you can and help make blankets/quilts to give to children in need. Come with or without your machine and be prepared to work on getting these comfort blankets completed for distribution. The more given, the more are needed to give out. Your help will not be turned away.
